Een juiste houding betekent niet veel als er geen rekening wordt gehouden met de staat van volwassenheid, de situatie, de emotionele hulpbronnen en de fysieke omstandigheden van het individu.Het is gekoppeld aan emotionele groei en leren en kan niet worden verworven met eenvoudige mechanische oefeningen.
Leren bestaat uit het herkennen van een relatie in de totale situatie (omgeving, geest en lichaam).
Onderzoekend naar de mogelijkheden van bewegen en handelen die ons lichaam heeft, in het enorme aantal mogelijke spiersamentrekkingen, leren we langzaamaan de posities te herkennen en te voelen die een relatie hebben met de buitenwereld waar ons lichaam deel van uitmaakt.
Om deze redenen is het verkeerd om tegen een kind te zeggen dat het rechtop moet zitten, als hij het niet alleen doet, is dat omdat hij al van een passende ontwikkeling is afgeleid; dan moet er iets worden gedaan waardoor hij zich alleen goed voelt Ze prikkelen of straffen ze kunnen alleen het emotionele patroon veranderen of vervormen, waardoor het kind wordt gedwongen het symptoom dat de oorzaak is van zijn problemen te verbergen.
Zoals we weten, wordt de houding grotendeels gereguleerd door het extrapiramidale systeem, dus door een "automatisch programma".
De willekeurige spieren die op onze intentie reageren, zullen tegelijkertijd ook reageren op de bevelen van de andere onbewuste delen van het zenuwstelsel. Onder normale omstandigheden werkt de automatische besturing, hoewel vrijwillige besturing op elk gewenst moment kan plaatsvinden. Wanneer "zo snel mogelijk actie nodig is, zoals wanneer er gevaar is om te vallen of een plotselinge overlevingsdreiging", dan zal het geautomatiseerde systeem al het werk doen voordat we tijd hebben om uit te zoeken wat er aan de hand is.
In deze context komt een ander aspect naar voren dat door Moshe wordt overwogen: het biologische aspect van houding, opgevat als een manier van overleven.
Zolang we de staande en zittende houding als statische houdingen beschouwen, is het moeilijk om ze te beschrijven zodat ze verbeterd kunnen worden. We moeten de beschrijving in een dynamische context plaatsen: vanuit dynamisch oogpunt maakt elke stabiele positie deel uit van een reeks posities die een beweging vormen.
Volgens Moshe Feldenkrais moet de menselijke houding voldoen aan twee even belangrijke biologische behoeften: stabiliteit (zich beschermd en veilig voelen) en mobiliteit (het vermogen om met nieuwe en onverwachte situaties om te gaan).
Het verwijst echter naar "actie en niet naar het handhaven van een statische positie. Aangezien het "in de praktijk brengen" impliceert, gebruikt Moshe liever de term "actura" en negeert hij bij het observeren de context van de actie niet.
Stap uit het perspectief van correctie: er is geen ideale houding
Bij de Feldenkrais Methode® is er geen ideale houding, er is een persoonlijke houding.
Tijdens de lessen demonstreert de leraar niet de uit te voeren bewegingen of de aan te nemen houdingen en probeert de leerling zich niet te conformeren aan een ideaal model.
Elke persoon wordt verbaal begeleid om de meest geschikte bewegingen voor hun organisatie te vinden.
In de meeste gevallen weet en voelt de persoon in het begin niet dat zijn houding inefficiënt of onjuist is, tenzij iemand hem van buitenaf laat observeren of geen osteo-articulaire of spierpijn voelt. Om deze reden is het verbeteren van een "verkeerde" houding een "onmogelijke taak als je de persoon niet bewust maakt en hem het gevoel geeft dat andere manieren van staan en bewegen mogelijk zijn. En dat deze manieren prettiger, gemakkelijker en zelfs kunnen zijn. meer esthetisch voor haar.
Comfortabele houding en bewuste automatismen
De elementen die ons in staat stellen om een "efficiënte" houding te definiëren, zijn volgens de Feldenkrais-benadering:
• de afwezigheid van inspanning;
• de afwezigheid van weerstand;
• de aanwezigheid van omkeerbaarheid;
• vrije ademhaling.
"Als we de mate van bewustzijn van spierinspanning zouden vergroten wanneer spieren werken door vrijwillige actie, zouden we spierinspanningen kunnen herkennen die, door gewoonte, normaal verborgen zijn voor onze bewuste geest.
Als we ons van zulke onnodige inspanningen zouden kunnen bevrijden, zouden we de ideale stabiele positie duidelijker herkennen. We zouden dan zijn teruggekeerd naar het stadium waarin alle bewuste spierinspanningen om het evenwicht te bewaren verdwijnen, aangezien dit evenwicht alleen wordt onderhouden door de oudere delen van ons zenuwstelsel, die de best mogelijke positie zullen vinden die verenigbaar is met de overgeërfde fysieke structuur van het individu.
Een goede staande positie is er een waarin een minimale spierinspanning het lichaam met evenveel gemak in elke gewenste richting zal bewegen.
In staande positie mag er geen spierinspanning zijn die het gevolg is van vrijwillige controle, ongeacht of deze inspanning bekend en opzettelijk is of door "gewoonte" voor het bewustzijn verborgen is.
Moshe's woorden onderstrepen zijn "comfortabele" opvatting van houding, ver verwijderd van de statische van "rechtop staan" door inspanning en wil.
